Tony Robbins on Breaking Limiting Beliefs in Sales
2026-02-15 · 10 min
Tony Robbins likes to point out that it is usually not a lack of resources that stops people, it is a lack of resourcefulness, and underneath that are beliefs they never bothered to question. In sales, a belief like “I am bad at closing” or “nobody wants to be sold to” quietly becomes true because you act like it is. Here is how to dig one of those out.
Say It Out Loud
Write down the belief that is holding you back, then put it on trial. Is it actually true? Where did it even come from? What opens up if it is not true? Nine times out of ten you will find it is an old story you picked up somewhere, not a fact.
Trade It for a Better One
Pick a new belief that actually serves you. “I get a little better every conversation.” “People want solutions, and I help them find the right one.” Repeat it, especially right before you dial. Your brain is good at finding evidence for whatever you tell it to look for, so give it something useful.
